Easton's First Thanksgiving

Arkansas or bust was the motto this past Thanksgiving! Easton took her first road trip to see Memaw and Papaw. The car was loaded with everything we could possibly need for a 4 month old and then some. My motto: Better to be over packed and prepared than wishing you had brought it. Which meant I packed Eaton's entire closet, ALL her hair bows, the bath whale, an ungodly amount of socks, too many blankets, a jumparoo, a travel swing and so much more. Needless to say when it came to find room for Nana and my stuff it was a challenge (my mom and I left one day before the "guys" so we could spend more time with my grandparents). Tuesday at 2:15 pm we hit the road! Easton slept for the first 4 hours of the trip. Than we stopped at Sonic to eat and let her out of her car seat so she could nurse and stretch. An hour and half later we were back on the road! The last couple of hours Easton was fed up with car seat and my mom had to entertain her with toys. We arrived at Memaw and Papaw's 10:30 pm. Eight hours later. It usually takes us 7 hours so additional hour isn't that bad with a four month old.

Eastons received so much love, hugs and kisses while we were down there! Below are some pictures of the trip.

Loaded down!!! 98% of this stuff is Eastons.

My cousin Lacey and her fiance are missing from the picture below. We missed you two!

Skinnie Minnie at 4 months!

Four FABULOUS months! Easton is showing more and more personality every day.

Weight: 11lbs. 13 oz. - 15%

Height: 24 in. - 45% (this does not surprise me!)

Head: 15 3/4" - 25%

At daycare she takes 5 oz. every four hours. She is all over the place with clothes. In britches she needs a 3 month waist with a 6 month leg length. Poor girl has no belly and lots of leg. Onesies are the same way. Since she doesn't have a belly 3 months fit fine around her belly, but she has a long torso like her Momma and 3 months tends to ride up her diaper. Once again, poor girl! We can't wait until we get into adjustable waist bands. Until then things just will be a little baggie... We can focus on cute shoes and accessories! Easton does not sleep through the night. The doctor said this was completely normal for breastfeed babies. Sometimes she will wake up once a night and other nights she will wake up at 1:30 am, 3:30 am and 5:30 am. The waking up every two hours is due to her conking out once she is satisfied, but I need her to be full and nurse longer than 7 minutes so she will stay asleep longer. It is a work in progress. The doctor also said Easton's top gum line is thining and could be getting a tooth anytime now. The only thing we have noticed is she is drooling a lot and loves to put toys, burp clothes and fingers in her mouth.

Easton's FAVORITE things at FOUR months:
  • Laying on the floor with toys. She loves that she can wiggle, kick and roll around on her blanket.
  • The crunchy book! She enjoys the noise of it. Many times it goes straight to her mouth.
  • Sitting up in her swing so she can watch Mommy and Daddy cook. Well I mean Daddy cook. ;)
  • Watching football with Daddy.
  • Harlie and Ella. She likes to watch them walk around and play.
  • Putting her first two fingers in her mouth. Many times she gags herself

Here are Easton's 4 month photos. Once again brought to you by MB Photography! ;)

Now tell me she isn't her father's daughter!

The doctor gave us the go ahead on introducing cereal. So last night we went for it. He says we can give her 2-3 tabelspoons twice a day. So before bathtime we busted out the spoons and bowls. She really liked it, probably because we mixed it with breastmilk. Even though more came out than went in. We really enjoyed the whole process and got many laughs out of her trying to figure the whole thing out.

This past weekend we bought little Ms. Easton a jumparoo! At first I she wasn't sure about it, but once she figured out it makes all kinds of noises when she moved she got into it!

As I said before, she loves to lay on the floor and play with her toys. This is the first time we introduced the dogs to Easton being on the floor. As you can see Harlie and Easton just looked at each other. Ella just hangs backs and watchs. The dogs have really done great with Easton on the floor and we hope that the crawing phrase will go just as well.

Easton survived her first Halloween. All the fun actually started a week before Halloween when we carved pumpkins on Saturday. It was a pumpkin and pancakes kinda day. We invited my brother and parents over for breakfast and some pumpkin carving.

Easton rocking her leg warmers while watching Daddy make pancakes!

Yep, we put our little girl in pumpkin. Nope, she wasn't to happy. Can you blame her.... who wants to sit in slimy shit?

Outside for the lighting of the pumpkins.

Our pumpkins....

The Friday before Halloween our friend Lexie, aka Aunt Vern came over to see Easton in her costume. Oh, and she brought us a fabulous dinner!

Grandpa and Nana

We made many stops that night and Easton was a great sport. In the beginning she was fussy, but we figured out she was hot in her costume so we unzipped her and she was fine. Josh and I really loved showing our little moo cow off and can't wait until she is old enough to realize how much fun Halloween is.
