Tiblow Day Parade and Morning Surprises!

Even though this was Easton's 2nd year of attending the Tiblow's Day Parade, this year was much different than last. Last year she was a newborn, just 1 and 1/2 months old who could care less about the floats, loud sirens and balloons. This year as a toddler she enjoyed the parade and with her sippy full of whole milk she gazed as children threw candy, floats cruised by with music and balloons and horsy trotted down the street. She loved the parade and happily sat in her stroller in awe of it all. After the parade we walk down main street to the vendors and stopped to say Hi to friends and family. Thankfully Easton has no clue what a carnival is so this year we were able to stroll right on by it.

A couple of weeks ago we had some major bedtime issues. Actually it was some overnight-good morning issues. A couple of Fridays ago Josh was home from work, I was getting ready for work and Easton had woke up. This was her normal time to wake up so I woke Josh and then went to get her. I was fully dressed for work and pretty much on my way out the door. I scooped her up like I normally do and walked into the my bedroom. As I am walking I realize something is wet. Ugh.... I pull Easton away and see the front side of her onesie is soaked from belly button to chin. Double Ugh... I tell Josh to get up and take her. Her diaper must of leaked and we need to clean her up and change her bedding. Josh cleaned up Easton and I stripped her bed and throw them in the washer. Friday evening I made sure her diaper was secure and we did our normal bedtime routine. Low and behold... Saturday morning I was greeted with a soaking wet baby. All I could think was damn diaper! Saturday night I tripled checked the diaper to make sure it was secure. Sunday morning brought the same mess as days previous and I was headed to Wal-Mart in search of night time diapers because I was over doing laundry every morning. I grabbed the pampers 12 hour night time (Side note: has any ever noticed they smell funny compared to the normal pamper diapers). Sunday night I was sure to put Easton in her 12 hour nighttime diaper. Twelve hours my ass. Monday morning I had a pee covered baby. Are you kidding me. I went into work, of course after I started yet another load of laundry, and talked to a co-worker who has 2 girls of his own. He suggested going up a size. Hmmm... that makes since. What do I have to lose. Wet sheets. So after I picked up Easton we headed to Wal-Mart and I bought a package of huggies size 4 and pampers size 4. I was defiantly covering all my bases. Tuesday morning.... happy and dry baby! Such a simple solution. Gotta love life!

13 Months and 3 years!

Note: I started working on this post over a week and half ago and still have yet to finish it because just when I think I got all the fun new things Easton is doing covered she surprises us with something new. It is crazy how fast she is picking up on things!)

August 16th was a big day for the Bosleys. Not only was it my hubby and I's 3rd anniversary, but Easton turned 13 months! Seriously it seems like we have been married forever... in a good way. These past years have been CRAZY! In '08 we got hitched!, '09 bought our first house and I got knocked up ;) , '10 we welcomed Easton Blondell into our lives and in '11 I got knocked up again! Hmm.... just kidding! We are laying low in the baby department these days. It will be a couple more years before we go round 2.

So normally on the anniversary post I would go on and on about how much I love my husband, how great of a father he is, how blissfully happy we are, blah, blah, blah. You all know this already. I say it all the time. So I will spare you this one time :). Instead I am going to talk about our lives. The day in and out. The craziness of a toddler. Yep, as of July 16th we are proud new owners of a toddler!

Our day begins when Josh's fog horn goes off at 5:00 AM. It then continues to go off every ten minutes until 5:30 AM. Then cue my alarm and we have symphony of alarms going off in our bedroom at 5:30 AM. Which Easton some how manages to sleep through. I roll out of bed and head to do the morning pee, let the dogs out and feed them, then I feed myself. Usually a bowl of cereal while cruising facebook or working on the blog. I like to say it is my 20 mins. of me time. Then off to the shower to become human and alert. Following the morning shower I kiss my husband good-by, dress, blow dry hair and its off to the kitchen. I gather Easton's things for daycare, put my lunch together, load my car, let the dogs out again and then head into Easton's room to wake her up.

Now this is my favorite time in the morning. It's our time. I scope Easton out of bed and we cuddle in the recliner. She snuggles up to me and I rock her as she begins to wake up. She will just lay there on my chest for as long as I want. The house is quiet, no lights are on and it is just Easton and me having our morning snuggles before we take on the day. I do this every morning no mater how late I am running or what is going on. I always make time to snuggle with Easton as there will come a time when she no longer wants to. Then it's a quick diaper change and we are out the door on our way to Mrs. Mandy's house.

I have come to the conclusion that Easton plays hard at Mandy's house. Over the summer she had to keep up with Ethan, 5 and Ava, 2. Now since school has started it's just the girls, Ava, Easton and Mandy. She has a very busy day at the Cook household.

Lately I have been picking Easton up from daycare after work. We head home to start dinner and eat at 6:00 pm. We play until 7:30 pm and then it is on to bath time! Which Easton loves! Josh and I take turns giving Easton and bath. Ideally we started out with the motto of you do bath, bottle and bed, but little miss Easton isn't letting that happen. If I am sitting down stairs while Josh is giving her part of her bottle, she will whine and reach out for me. Of course this breaks my heart so I finish giving her bottle. Around 8:00 pm one of us takes Easton up to her room where we read two books and finish giving her her bottle. At 8:30 pm we lay her down in her bed. The ritual is the sheep must be making the ocean noise, the turtle must be lite up placing star and the moon on the wall and you lay Easton on her back. Take her blanket and cover her up then she rolls to her belly and tucks up into a ball. We do this every night and without any tears!

So that is our weekday life in a nutshell.

I always telling myself "I hope I can remember all the little things about Easton 20 years from now." The funny, cute and crazy things Easton is doing right now. I am going to share some of those little things....

* She loves to comb her hair. After bath and tell her to comb your hair and she knows exactly what to do. It is so stinkin' cute!

(Don't mind the shiner. She feel on a corner of a book at Nana and Grandpas)

*She loves to be chased! Especially down the hall.

*Her vocabularry is expanding everyday: Bottle=baba, Book=boo, Uh Oh, Duckey

*Dare devil and a climber!

*Easton loves whole milk just as much as breastmilk. It was a super easy transition and Easton has officially been on cow's milk since the first week in August.

*This week we have began the process of getting rid of the bottle. This week we dropped her morning bottle and replaced it with a sippy cup. She has been using the sippy cup since she was six months old so replacing the morning bottle hasn't even phased her. This weekend we will drop the afternoon bottle. Then next week the evening bottle. Good-by to bottle cleaning! Yippie! I can tell she is ready and this is a great time to make the transition.

*Can you see them! Look real close! Ladies and gentlemen we finally have teeth coming in! TWO pearly whites are making their way through. And boy are we paying for those suckers through some pretty foul diapers and lots of chewing!

*Where's Easton's belly button?! Easton loves to show off her belly button and has no problem lifting up her shirt to do so.

*She gives hugs and kisses all the time! To everyone and anything thing, i.e. her rocking horse. *She will bring you a book, climb onto your lap and flip the pages as you read to her. She doesn't care if it is the hundrenth time you read "Good Night Moon". She loves books and to be read to!

Oh, and we have taken out the bumpers in her crib. We also figured we should take out the mobile. The crib looks so naked and it really got to me when I was putting them away. She really is a toddler!

*Easton has found her nostril! Ooh, there is a hole in my nose that my finger fits into! Fun!

*She is still a great eater! Though there are times she hates grapes at breakfast then LOVES them at lunch! Of course she loves her ice cream!

Our little Sponge

It is crazy all the new things Easton has learned and how quick she is picking new things up. Kids really are like a sponge! I wanted to share some of the "fun" things we are experience these days.

Easton will shake her head from left to right like a crazy mad woman. She thinks it is the funniest thing to do. However, it isn't so funny when we tell her no and she does it.

She launches her highchair tray. I am not talking about some dainty nudge. I am talking about knees pulled to the chest, legs fully extended with full force and like a Frisbee the tray lofts through the air and the dogs go scurrying out of the way! Of course she thinks it is the best thing ever!

Speaking of dogs. Easton thinks it is the greatest thing in the world to say "dog" with her arm fully extended over the side of the tray, food in hand and feed her puppy dogs. Mommy and Daddy on the other hand are spending dinner telling her no and the dogs no.

She is a full fledged walker and has mastered going from a sitting position to standing up and walking without any assistance from the furniture. She can boogie along. Crawling has become a thing of the past. I must say that she looks so cute walking. All waddlely and arms shrugged up for balance.

So every night we rock Easton before we lay her down in bed. If I don't grab the blanket on the back of the chair and snuggler her in it, she will yank on it until I do. It has become a nightly ritual. She must have her blanket draped over when she is being rocked.

Sneaky... sneaky! We don't let Easton play with remotes of cell phones. For the simple fact they are not kid toys and she has an abundance of toys she can play with. Also I don't want her to throw a fit because she wants it when we need to use it. So there are certain occasions when Josh or I will leave the remote in reach of her little hands. Boy does she snatch it up and will take off running. Belly giggling the entire time because she knows she isn't supposed to have it and we will chase after her.

Speaking of chasing... Easton loves to be chased. She tries to walk faster to get away from us but gets to excited and falls all while laughing her little heart out.

We rearranged our living room and put our couch in front of our gas fireplace. For the simple reasons that we need more space for toys, we never used our gas fireplace, and we needed to change it up. We had to leave our couch out enough from the fireplace wall so that it could recline. That left just enough room for little britches to fit behind our couch. She loves it. We don't mind it and will let her run behind there and play until she pops open the bottom panel of the fireplace where the handle is to control the gas. Yep, she is a stinker!

Easton has learned the concept of 1...2...3! When ever you say it to her she knows that something excited is going to happen. Whether it is jumping of the ottoman, in the air or on our bed. She loves the phrase 1...2...3!

DQ Ice Cream? Yes, please!

Friday night my mom, dad and I took Easton to Dairy Queen for the first time. She had her very first ice cream cone and LOVED IT! In fact, when you tried to take it away from her she throw a little fit. It was a fun and messy DQ trip!

Finger-lickin' good

The fallen cone

"You little stinker!" That is all I could say as I walked up two flights of stairs with grocery bags in my hands. I had went to the garage to grab the groceries Easton and I had picked up on our way home. I had left her playing in the living with her toys right by the ottoman. The baby gate going down stairs was shut, but to lessen the chances of me falling on my ass while hauling groceries in, I left the baby gate going up stairs unlatched, but pushed to. I swear I was down there for 30 seconds grabbing the groceries out of my car, but she is a fast one. And these days a little on the sneaky side. As I am rounding the corner to go up the next flight of stairs, there that stinker is. Running around in our kitchen playing with the cabinets, dog food and water like she is queen of the world. Of course she sees me and immediatly does her "I know I am not supposed to be doing this, but it is so damn fun" laugh/shriek. I just smiled and asked her "What are you doing stinker." So new rule in the Bosley house. No longer can we leave the upstairs baby gate unlatched. She will high tail it up the stairs and find freedom in the cabinets, dog water and food. Our little dare devil is fearless!

Bosley Waterpark & Biker Babe!

The Bosley Waterpark is open for the season! We have a giant sprinkler ball, a mini pool and a water table with all kinds of play stations! 2 and under are free! At first Easton thought the giant ball that sprinkled water was fun. Until she realized how stinkin' cold the water was coming out of it!
She loved to walk around her water table! And she would crawl out of her pool, walk around her water table and crawl back into her pool. She thought it was a fun game!
Mommy and Easton playing.

Birthday Bash: OUR LITTLE LADY TURNED ONE!

Easton woke up in a great mood (as usual) the day of her birthday! She must have known she was one and now considered a toddler!

I am going to start with the details of the birthday bash. Some will say it was way too much for a first birthday party others will understand. Yes this was about Easton turning one, but it was also a celebration of many more things, Josh and I survived our first year as parents and I met my goal of providing breastmilk for a year! Not to mention I enjoy planning parties... birthday, baby showers, bridal showers etc. I LOVED planning my wedding! On with it! The theme was ladybugs.

Here are the centerpieces. Yellow tissue paper flower, ladybug pick, crazy green paper grass, terracotta pot and a Easton and 1 pick.
Instead of doing the traditional cake and ice cream. I went a different route. Can you say DESSERT BUFFET! Chocolate and Rainbow Cupcakes, Strawberry and Lemon Cakeballs, Cookies, Brownies and Lemon bars! Yummy! Of course in the center of it all was Easton's birthday cake! The dessert buffet was a hit, especially with the kids. So below is a picture of the dessert buffet. Swagged above the sweets are pictures from when Easton was a newborn until 12 months.

Closer view of the timeline. I purchased the little ladybug tags from Ciao Bambino.

Cookies were by Icings by Ang.

Easton's cake was by Sweets N Such.

These little tags were also ordered from Ciao Bambino.

Eating a snack.

Hugs for Sully!
All the kiddos!

Cake Time! We sang Happy Birthday to Easton and she loved!

She also LOVED her cake!

To keep the kids entertained I bought some 8x10 canvases, finger paint and cheap paint brushes. The kids LOVED the activity. Parents on the other hand cringed when I said they would be painting, but there wasn't any spills, no fights and no one was covered in paint. Instead of going home with a favor bag full of candy they had masterpieces!

We decided not to open gifts during the party, but instead bring them home and open them after the party. I believe this was the best idea ever! Easton could help when she wanted and still run around and have fun!Our daughter is so loved by so many people. One lucky little girl!

Easton had a wonderful 1st Birthday! She was one tired little girl that night and didn't even finish her bottle before she passed out!
